Finding Relevance in the midst of Crisis -Part 5

Proffer a solution to problems that created the crisis

There are so many questions being asked every day of our lives, some are easier to answer than others, some may never even get answers in the span of some people’s lifetime. What are some of the questions that arises in crisis and how does it relate to our relevance?

How did this happen? What caused this crisis? How did we get here? Why is this happening? I guess these questions may sound familiar to you. You may even have been asked some of them before and probably many more similar questions especially when things go wrong.

Crisis does not just happen, there is usually a cause which could be known or unknown as at the time of the crisis or even afterwards but every change is a result of something that has changed.

You may have witnessed so many events in your life and perhaps some of them were unprecedented. Many people have comments and questions at such times and do you know what most people are likely to ask about? It may be very interesting to know the different things people say at such times but it could vary depending on the individuals.

Asking the right questions could help find the right solution to a crisis. Sometimes, people offer solutions without understanding the problem, they only provide solutions based on assumptions but taking some time to get the facts right could be very helpful in finding a solution.

There was a poor community with a very high death rate of children but no one in the community was able to figure out why, neither could they find the solution to the continuous deaths of their children. They helplessly mourned the loss of children from time to time and it almost became a normal thing and with all their best efforts they could not find a solution.

Help came for this community, some people came asking questions, observing and they found out the problem that created the crisis and also proffered the solution which eventually brought an end to the crisis and the untimely deaths of children in the community.

It was discovered that the women gave birth in unhygienic conditions, because they considered the process of childbirth as dirty and messy, so delivery of a child took place in dirty places outside their houses or dwelling places; the process then exposed the children to infection which eventually cut their life short.

They did not know what the problem was, they did not know what was fighting against them, they were not aware of the enemy that was killing their children, they could not figure it out, they never knew that their thinking and actions were related to their crisis, but upon discovery when help came they found out that their crisis could have ended long ago if only they had known.

The solution proffered was easy; the provision of the right information. They were educated on the importance of hygiene and how to find a clean and hygienic environment for their child delivery like their homes with clean clothes and maintaining hygiene procedures like cleaning and washing.

This community can never forget this help, even if it seems so basic and simple, the impact was so great because it was a solution that brought an end to their crisis; that is relevance.

In any crisis, these questions need answers and those who have the answers as well as those who can solve them become sought after. Crisis needs people that know what has gone wrong and those that know how to fix it. How did this happen? How did we get here? Why is this happening? What has changed? What is the cause? What created this situation? What is the solution?

Do you have answers to any of these questions in any crisis situation? Do you know the cause and or the solution? You will be sought after if your answer is yes; that is where your relevance lies.

The world like this community is facing one of the most challenging times at the moment and people are looking for answers in families, businesses, communities, and nations.

Amazingly, what brings about significant impact could be little, simple or easy things. Ignorance has destroyed so many people, just access to the right information can save a generation. Do you have the right information? The world needs you.

The world is shivering under the attack of coronavirus and we are still seeking clarity on the cause. What caused it? There has been more confusion than help from all the information available from all kinds of sources, causing more crisis which is now affecting people even greater than the effect of the virus itself.

Wrong information is destroying lives, ignorance is paralysing many, unproven theories is holding many bound, deceit is killing people while they are still alive, and gullibility is robing nations of their wealth. We see the emergence of another crisis with a greater impact on lives and the cause is traceable to some of these.

Why are we where we are? How did we get here? Where is the way out? Questions and more questions need answers; those that have the answers will always be required. There is a right answer to every question and a right solution to every problem and you may be in a position to help with some of them.

The poor community in crisis only got the right information, they received it and they changed and their crisis was over. Simple but very impactful. The generally accepted guidelines during this pandemic looks simple, isn’t it? Stay at home, wash your hands, socially distance and so on. Simple but if no one knew what to do, the effect would have been greater.

Do you know what has gone wrong in your community and needs to change? Do you understand why many businesses are struggling?  Have you been able to figure out why things are the way they are?

A virus is reducing the world’s population gradually and we cannot still put a stop to it?

How did we get here? Is it uncleanness, greed, carelessness, wickedness, pride, anger, bitterness, selfishness, lawlessness…? Something needs to change.

Answers, right answers are required. It could be simple, easy, or common but if it is not known as the cause or the solution the problem will not be solved. Those that are able to match the problem with the solution will help bring about change.

You can only give what you have, so look around you and look for opportunities to bring about change by proffering the right solutions to problems that you can identify as reasons for crisis first in your personal life, then family, groups, business, community, and nation.

Nothing changes except someone changes it. Crisis is a change; we can only change it positively by doing something positive to change the situation.

You may need to think of what you have and how it can help make the world a better place. People need you but you can only become relevant to them when you can identify the reason for their crisis and proffer the way out of it.

To be continued next week, don’t miss it.

Please feel free to share this post if you found it useful, and remember to get in touch as I would appreciate your comments and would like to hear from you.
